We decided to re-start our blog for the sake of us moving… so our families and friends can see what is happening in our lives.
It is scary moving to a completely different state that is so different from Washington. Josh has lived there before, off and on, throughout his life, but I have always lived in Washington! I am excited to start this new adventure with my little family. Lex, of course, has no idea what is happening and I think he might be a little confused about why his toys are no longer out for his enjoyment, and why there are so many boxes and storage bins all over the house. We just got back from a trip to Idaho, and he really was not enjoying sitting in his car seat for longer than an hour, but we are trying to time our drive so he will sleep most of the way.
We are going to be driving straight through without any over night stops. Lex has done this trip a couple times, and so have I, but it will be my first time without Josh driving most of the way because he will be in the moving truck, and I will be driving our little car. Thankfully Josh’s sister and brother-in-law are coming up from Utah to help us move, and another of Josh’s sisters will be moving down with us. Whew! That makes taking care of our little guy much easier because he will have somebody to play with in the back seat while his Momma is driving.
We are going to miss our families so much! It’s going to be weird not having our parents around as much to help out when we get stuck in a rut, or are having random problems… or a babysitter (Josh being the oldest of 12 means there are lots of Aunties who love to watch Lex if we need to do something). Our families have been our biggest support system since we have been married and it is going to be sad leaving them … I guess it’s time for us to be real grown ups.
Anyways, we are going to miss all of our Washington friends, and seriously… if you are going to be in Utah for any reason at all don’t hesitate to let us know! We would love to see all of you!
